Our team recently worked alongside our arborist service partners on a tree removal project for an industrial estate in Bradford, tackling two large, neglected trees that had become a problem for neighbouring businesses.

Growing in an inaccessible, fenced-off area of land, the trees had reached a size where their proximity to nearby buildings was causing issues with the roofs. Their removal was necessary to allow repairs to take place and prevent further problems.

The trees were situated in a neglected area of land between neighbouring units, with restricted access caused by fencing and accumulated fly-tipped waste.

Their size, location and proximity to the surrounding buildings meant that simply cutting them down was not an option. The work required specialist tree climbing and rigging techniques to dismantle the trees safely and in a controlled manner.

Before the arborists could begin, the site needed to be cleared and access established. Working in partnership with our arborist service partners, SPA Landscaping helped prepare the site and facilitate the safe removal of both trees. The project involved several stages:

• Clearing the site: Fly-tipped waste was removed from the area, and the obstructing fence was taken down to provide the team with access.
• Specialist tree removal: Our arborist service partners used climbing and rigging techniques to dismantle the two large trees in a controlled manner, bringing them down to their stumps.
• Waste removal: All tree waste and debris were cleared from the site, leaving the area tidy and ready for the next stage of work.
• Stump treatment: The remaining stumps were eco-plugged to prevent regrowth and reduce the risk of the trees causing similar problems in the future.

This joint approach enabled both teams to overcome the access difficulties and complete the work required to address the issues affecting nearby businesses. The two problem trees were successfully removed, resolving the immediate obstruction and helping facilitate essential roof repairs to the neighbouring properties.

Clearing the fly-tipped waste and removing the fence also transformed the previously inaccessible area into a cleared space. With all waste removed and the stumps treated, we addressed both the immediate concerns and the risk of unwanted regrowth.
